How Slant collects, uses, and protects information.

Who we are

Slant Design ("Slant," "we," "us") is a brand strategy and marketing leadership consultancy based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We can be reached at hello@slant.is.

What information we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out the Brand Size-Up Audit intake form, you provide:

• Company name and website URL
• Your name, role, and email address
• Your stated brand challenge and industry
• Optionally: brands you admire or compete with, revenue range, primary operating region, timeline driving the audit

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, we collect standard web analytics data via Google Analytics (GA4), including:

• Page views, session duration, scroll depth
• Approximate geographic location (country / region)
• Browser type, device type, operating system
• Referring source (search engine, ad campaign, direct visit)

Google Analytics 4 does not log or retain IP addresses. It uses them transiently to derive coarse geographic location (country / region) and then discards them. We do not collect personally identifying information through analytics.

Payment information

Payment for the Brand Size-Up Audit is processed by Stripe. Slant does not store, transmit, or have access to your credit card or bank details. Stripe's privacy practices are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

How we use your information

• To produce your Brand Size-Up Audit deck
• To deliver the completed audit to your email
• To follow up with you about the audit findings or Slant's other strategy and marketing services (such as strategy sprints, fractional CMO retainers, and brand refresh projects)
• To improve our services through aggregated, anonymized analytics

Who we share your information with

Slant does not sell or rent your information. We do not sell or share your personal information in the manner defined by California CCPA/CPRA, Colorado CPA, or comparable US state privacy laws. We do not exchange customer data for monetary or valuable consideration. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the audit:

• Formspree: receives your intake form submission and forwards it to Slant. Formspree privacy.
• Stripe: processes your payment. Stripe privacy.
• Google (GA4): website analytics, run in a cookieless mode (it sets no cookies and stores no persistent identifier); GA4 does not log or retain IP addresses. Google privacy.
• Anthropic: Slant uses Claude (Anthropic's AI) as part of producing the audit. Your business information may be processed by Claude during analysis. Anthropic does not train models on the inputs we send via the API. All audit findings are reviewed and edited by a human (Brady Whitteker) before delivery. Anthropic privacy.

We may also share information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, property, or safety.

How long we keep your information

We retain intake form submissions and audit deliverables for as long as you have an active relationship with Slant, or as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years for transaction records in Canada). You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@slant.is; we will delete what we are not legally required to retain.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Receive your information in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time

Cookies

Slant runs site analytics (Google Analytics 4) in a cookieless mode: GA4 is configured so it does not set cookies or store a persistent identifier on your device. It is used only to measure aggregate, non-identifying activity such as page views, traffic sources, and approximate region. Because no analytics cookies are set, there is no cookie banner to manage.

We use only the functional, essential cookies needed to operate the site. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on slant.is.

Children

Slant's services are intended for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Slant operates from Canada. Some of our service providers (Stripe, Google, Formspree, Anthropic) are based in the United States and may process your information there. By using Slant's services, you consent to this transfer. We use service providers that maintain industry-standard security and privacy practices.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we use HTTPS, vetted service providers, and access controls to minimize risk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective date" below. Continued use of Slant's services after a change constitutes acceptance.
